Policy review: Responsibility for the review of policies lies with the leadership of the organizational unit responsible for that policy. Each policy shall be reviewed every three years.

Policy development and modification: Development or modification of policies resides in the responsible organizational unit. If leadership in the organizational unit believes a new policy or significant modification of existing policy is required to provide direction for principles of operation then a policy is developed/modified using the ATCC policy template and sent to the Leadership Council (LC) for review.

Policy review and approval: LC council will review new proposed policies and those with significant modification as they are submitted. Consensus at LC is required for policy approval. New proposed policies and those with significant modification will be presented to the Shared Governance Committee for information. The responsible administrator of the organizational unit for that policy shall work with the Department of Institutional Research and Communication to finalize voice and formatting to insure consistency among policies. The Director of the Department of Institutional Research and Communication will publish the policy and procedure in the identified media. The administrator of that organizational unit will insure the policy spreadsheet is updated.

Policy access and maintenance: Current policies will be available via ATCC’s website to allow access by the college and community at large. Current and archived policies will be maintained by the Department of Institutional Research and Communication.
