Partnering for Success

Alexandria Technical & Community College has a history of building strong relationships with industry and community while, at the same time, operating independently and competitively as a college. As the only public or private higher education institution within 40 miles, the college chose to pursue a strategy of independence in delivering programs and services. This autonomous existence was supported by committed staff and faculty, dynamic community support, and substantial business partnerships.

Globalization of business and education along with Minnesota's shift in public education governance created an environment for change. As a result, the college has selectively expanded key education partnerships to increase access for learners and stakeholders that increasingly are located outside of West Central Minnesota. While doing this, the benefit for the community and businesses has been new technology and information transfer to support economic development and global competitiveness. Most importantly, partnerships have expanded the educational opportunities students have both at ATCC and beyond.
