Introduction to PLC's

This course is designed to provide the learners with the hands-on knowledge and understanding of programmable logic control (PLC) devices and systems. This is a survey course that is meant for people with little or no prior exposure to PLC's. It is geared toward the individual that will be working with PLC's directly or in a support role such as sales or distribution. Participants will survey PLC's from small, self-contained units to large, enterprise-level controllers.

Date: October 13, 2010 • 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Instructor: Mark Evich
Fee: $199 (includes lunch and materials) Take both PLC classes for $350!

PLC Programming: Beyond the Basics

This course expands on the basic topics introduced in Introduction to PLC's and introduces the participant to relay ladder logic programming using MicroLogix 1000 and MicroLogix 1500 PLC's from Allen Bradley. Rockwell Automation RSLogix 500 programming software will be used to program these units and RSLinx will be used as the communication manager. Participants will obtain a clear understanding of how PLC's manage data, understand the most common inputs conditions and outputs, and cover timers and counters in detail.

Basic ControlLogix

This course offers a step-by-step introduction of the new ControlLogix PLC platform by Rockwell. Included is a detailed description of all the features it has to offer completed by a step-by-step introduction to writing software. The course concludes with an introduction to all the available troubleshooting tools and features. Anyone who intends to write programs for or troubleshoot ControlLogix controlled equipment with no or limited prior knowledge, should take this course. The course offers plenty of "hands-on" opportunities to practice the learned materials.

Instructor: Mark Evich
Fee: $1800 (includes lunch and materials)

Fanuc Robotics: Programming Fundamentals

This course is designed for the individual who has had little or no exposure to Fanuc robotics. Hands-on and lecture-based activities will be used to provide the learner with fundamental understanding of how Fanuc robots are typically used to solve industrial problems. Commonplace advanced technologies such as human-machine interfaces (HMIs), machine vision systems will be introduced along with the basic elements of Fanuc robotic program manipulation, coordinate systems, jogging and collision recovery, PLC integration, and safety.
